Can I bring my companions in the WAT with me?

Accessibility for us means more than just being able to get around. It also means making sure your friends and family can come with you. When you book any of our wheelchair-accessible taxis, let us know how many people you’re travelling with.

Is my assistance animal allowed in the WAT with me?

Like all public transport, we welcome any assistant animals in our cabs. Keep in mind your WAT driver may ask you for your furry friend’s identification card.

What kind of lift is installed in the WATs?

All our cabs are fitted with either a ramp or hydraulic lift for easy wheelchair access. Our drivers are trained to easily manage either.

Does a wheelchair accessible taxi cost more than a regular taxi service in Sydney?

At 13cabs, we are a taxi company that believes in the power of great service. That goes for all our taxi services across Australia. Passengers who rely on a wheelchair or mobility aid to get around can have extra peace of mind knowing that great service doesn’t mean extra taxi fares. Our wheelchair accessible taxi services cost the same as a regular service. And you can find out exactly what that will be by booking via our app. All you need to do is:

  • Open the app
  • Enter your pickup address or move the location pin to where you are
  • Type in your destination
  • Choose wheelchair taxi service

When you do that, you’ll get a Fixed Price, letting you know exactly how much your fare will be. And you can save your preferred payment options as well, so you don’t have to worry about things like that. The Fixed Price in Sydney covers everything, including airport transfers and extra stops. And all our cabs accept all taxi subsidies and vouchers, including from the NDIS and the NSW Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme (TTSS).

What different wheelchair accessible vehicles are available?

At 13cabs we have two types of wheelchair-accessible vehicles – a MAXI TAXI and a regular cab. A MAXI TAXI has more capacity for larger wheelchairs and, if needed, more passengers. When you book, let us know if you would prefer a maxi cab or regular taxi. If you’re unsure, call us on 13 2227 and our trained staff will talk you through the options.

What are the benefits of using a wheelchair accessible taxi?

  • Hydraulic lifts
  • Accredited taxi drivers

  • Easy bookings
